Government Affairs & PAC Committee

To protect and promote the interests of the building industry through advocacy, education, and political action. We work at the local, state, and national levels to ensure that housing remains attainable and the construction industry continues to thrive.
From the Jobsite to the Legislature—We’ve Got Your Back
Protecting Housing. Supporting Growth. Shaping Policy.

What We Do
Our Government Affairs & PAC Committee:
• Tracks local ordinances, regulations, and fees that affect the construction industry
• Meets regularly with city and county officials to promote housing-friendly policies
• Represents our members' interests in planning, permitting, and development issues
• Coordinates with FHBA and NAHB on state and federal advocacy
• Mobilizes support for pro-business, pro-growth candidates and ballot initiatives
Our Federation of Advocacy
FHBA – Florida Home Builders Association
FHBA leads advocacy efforts across the state, giving our local concerns a voice in Tallahassee. Through FHB PAC, they support candidates who believe in the economic importance of homebuilding. Members also attend FHBA’s Legislative and Spring Conferences to connect directly with lawmakers.

NAHB – National Association of Home Builders
NAHB represents our industry in Washington, D.C., advocating on issues like labor shortages, supply chain challenges, housing finance, and tax policy. Their political action committee, BUILD-PAC, helps elect leaders in Congress who support housing and the trades.
Why It Matters
The building industry is shaped by decisions made in government every day—from land use and zoning to building codes and workforce development. Our involvement ensures:
• Housing remains affordable and attainable
• Builders and trades have access to a skilled workforce
• Unnecessary regulatory burdens are challenged
• Our members’ businesses and livelihoods are protected
Being proactive instead of reactive gives us the power to create a better environment for building and growth.
