The Bay Building Industries Association (BBIA) is committed to shaping the future of the construction industry by investing in education and workforce development. Our Education and Workforce Taskforce is a dedicated group of industry professionals and community leaders working together to bridge the skills gap and inspire the next generation of builders, tradespeople, and innovators. What We Do

Community Engagement:

We partner with local schools, Haney Technical College, Boys & Girls Club and Girls Inc to raise awareness of career opportunities in the trades. Our taskforce regularly makes classroom visits and provides hands-on experiences to inspire and educate future builders.

Scholarship Program:

Through the BBIA Scholarship Program we offer scholarships to students pursuing careers in the construction industry, enabling them to access the education and resources needed to succeed.

Future Builders of America

The Future Builders of America (FBA) is a partner in our mission to develop the next generation of skilled tradespeople. As a program dedicated to preparing high school students for careers in the building industry, FBA focuses on hands-on learning, mentorship, and leadership development.

Through Future Builders of America, students gain:

  • Hands-On Training: Practical experience in various trades, such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and more, under the guidance of industry professionals.
  • Mentorship: One-on-one mentorship opportunities with local builders and tradespeople, providing insight into real-world construction careers.
  • Leadership Development: Programs that encourage teamwork, leadership, and personal growth, preparing students for long-term success in the industry.

BBIA proudly supports FBA by working with local schools to create chapters, offering scholarships, and facilitating connections between students and our member companies for internships and apprenticeships.
